Podcast Episode 04 - RFID makes the web sneak into the real world
May 28, 2009 18
We apologize: this podcast is really late. And although we tried and explained why, our next one won’t be.
People going to great lengths in order to make great looking avatars so they can dive handsomely into the virtual world, should definitely relax. Because things happen to work out quite the opposite way. It is the web that is sneaking gradually into the real world. Because more and more ‘things’ out there get connected to the internet somehow.
One technology helping to bridge the real and the virtual world, is called RFID. This podcast explains all about it. About how RFID helps connecting everything in the real world to the internet.
Although the subject is not actually ‘hot’ (RFID has been patented in 1973!), it sure has some real marketing communication potential. Over the years, it has become a lot more affordable and some advertisers (like MINI in 2007 already!) are using it in some pretty cool campaigns . We also used RFID to help make our latest Pepsi campaign a real success.
Before we forget, we also included our Multi-Mania Awards movie that gives an overview of 4 students’ work. Congratulations Jan with your award for your iPhone app!

Great podcast guys. Just like democamp, startupcamp, barcamps of the world i think that an RFIDCamp should see the day in the next few months in Montreal. RFID has a lot of power of merging both worlds.
Cheers

Due to the nice ‘out-of-office’- reply I landed on the AdNerds website. Unexpected I kept on clicking and reading. Nice work.. Lovely glasses as well. :o) RFID is really cool. The podcasts gives a good overview and gave me some good ideas for some marketing / communication campaigns.
I subscribed me so I don’t need to miss any info.. Keep up the good work. Although the website is really slow or is it my pc?
